Pagination permalink issues for custom post type

Hi there,

Really scratching my head about this so hope you can help guys.
Looks here:
http://paula.showcaseserver.eu/books/
But then look here:
http://paula.showcaseserver.eu/books/page/2/

I can see that (at least I think) that Wordpress is using this from the permalink:
?name=books&paged=2

But it should be using:
?post_type=books&paged=2

I just can't figure out why / fix it.

Custom post type created using WP Toolset Types.
And I have tried changing to 2016 theme - same problem.

If I turn off permalinks... the query in the URL is correct and works. So it really seems to be how WP is interpretting the CPT archives when paginated.

Many thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

    Don't worry - I just solved it.
I had mistakenly set this to false:
'pages' => bool Should the permalink structure provide for pagination. Defaults to true
Why? Because I thought that if I had this as true then it would behave like posts rather than pages.

RTI - read the instructions / user error on my part.

Sometimes... you have to give up at 3am, go to sleep...and then mentally give up trying to solve it (e.g. post a support request) for the mind to clear and the solution to present itself

    Many thanks guys

Definitely, happens to me as well so I can totally understand you
