Password is not generated and sent to user

Hello,

we have a fresh WP, Multisite, Buddypress install.

We decided to use the Multisite registration process instead of the Budddypress one, due to another unsolved error (https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/register-forwards-to-blogscreate-which-gives-404-error-to-non-logged-in-users), but can't get it working:

- User subscribes for an account an a site (without giving in an individual password)
- User activates account
- User receives message, that the account is activated and accessible via the self-chosen password (which in fact he didn't choose). The Password is not printed in the mail.

Seems to be a conflict between Multisite and Buddypress user registration.

Can anybody help us or have an idea what we could do to solve this?

Thank you!

    Greetings maneramedia,

Sorry to see that you are having an issue with your WordPress installation and the Buddy Press plugin

You must use the Buddy Press version of the registration or the system will not work right.

It is time to go into full blown trouble shooting mode because it appears there may be some conflict there and one way to find out conclusively.

Standard plugin trouble shooting protocol - first to switch to the Twenty Eleven theme just long enough to check for the problem - if the problem still exists next involves deactivating all plugins except the plugin in question and then see if the issue still exists.

If it does not, then you want to activate plugins one at a time testing in between to see if the issue returns. Even when you find one plugin, it may be in your interest to deactivate the problem plugin and continue testing the rest of the plugins to insure no others are also conflicting.

You will know the conflict when the issue returns and which plugin(s) you activated that cause the issue.

Please advise if there are any plugin conflicts and if so what the plugins are that are conflicting.

    Cheers, Joe

    Hello again,

after following your Standard plugin trouble shooting protocol we found out, that the problem might be caused by the Ultimate Facebook Plugin.

In can enable all the plugins we used before, just when I activate Ultimate Facebook the bug appears again.

Thank you very much, great support!
