Paypal express issue with Membership Plugin

Using the express checkout for a simple recurring monthly site membership. When returning from Paypal the subscription is not added to the member profile and the member is inactive. This does not occur when setting the member to “free” and not going through the Paypal gateway. We do have the proper Paypal business account but am not sure if the provided buttons in the plugin qualify as a “paypal” express checkout button.

    Greetings MSanchez,

    Sorry to see that you are having a bit of trouble with the PayPal side of things which in effect is causing an issue with your WordPress installation.

    The URL can be anything PayPal will accept in there due to the call to PayPal will indeed include the right IPN destination regardless of what is in the PayPal side URL.

    But this is a requirement just the same from PayPal that something must be set there – even if you create a special return page just to handle the default IPN.
