Plugin Conflict .. Ultimate Branding .. ManageWP

We use ManageWP to sync and backup our sites.

A recent update to the "Ultimate Branding" plugin appears to have caused a conflict with our ability to "Connect" our site via the ManageWP worker plugin to ManageWP.

If we try to reconnect our site to ManageWP with Ultimate Branding enabled, we get the message .. as follows:

Fatal Error (E_ERROR): Call to a member function get_current_tab() on null occurred in wp-content/plugins/ultimate-branding/ultimate-branding-files/classes/class.ub.helper.php on line 34 please make sure that your website is accessible

I have contacted ManageWP .. they in turn, say to contact WPMUDEV as it looks like a conflict with Ultimate Branding.

For now I have disabled the Ultimate Branding plugin and the site connects/syncs properly with ManageWP.

    Hello Jeff & Ben,

Here's my environments tested. In every case, I had no issue connecting ManageWP with any of my test sites with Ultimate Branding and even Defender installed.

    Hosts: 1and1 / SiteGround
    PHP 7.0.23
    WordPress 4.8.2 / WordPress 4.8.2 Multisite
URL Setups: (HTTPS single site) (HTTP single site) (Multisite in web root as in (Subdirectory Multisite as in

In all cases, I had the following plugins enabled:
    ManageWP - Worker
    Ultimate Branding
    WPMU DEV Dashabord

One site was a production site that has all the following plugins installed and configured:
    Accelerated Mobile Pages
    Akismet Anti-Spam
    Contact Form 7
    Google Analytics +
    Hummingbird Pro
    Hustle Pro
    ManageWP - Worker
    Snapshot Pro
    Subscribe by Email
    Ultimate Branding
    WP Defender Pro
    WP Smush Pro
    WP Super Cache
    WPMU DEV Dashboard

    Theme Tested: Twenty Seventeen

    debug.log output: None
    JS Console output: None

I'm afraid I've just not been able to reproduce this issue. I've also asked a couple other staff to test this and they were not able to replicate this issue either.

Can you confirm that you've performed a plugin/theme conflict test and ruled out any other issues? This may sound counter-intuitive, but there are times when, if there is a conflict between 2 plugins, it can actually cause an issue with a third plugin. So, if another plugin is conflicting with Ultimate Branding somehow, it could cause other issues.

Other than the error above, can you provide any other debug.log output that we can investigate?

We are definitely happy to dig into this issue further for you, but I'm afraid we're not able to reproduce this on our end, at this time.

    Best regards,

    James Morris

    Hello again Jeff & Ben,

I contacted a member of our QA team who has access to a wide range of sites on numerous hosting environments and asked them to test this as well. They were able to reproduce the error, but only during the update process from an older version of Ultimate Branding. That's the only time the error showed. It was not present in their WP Admin and the site was functioning fine and ManageWP worked fine with the site. It seems it's limited to an update error only.

However, because we could reproduce this error, I'm tasking this up for our team to look into further.

    Best regards,

    James Morris
