Posting To GROUP (not Page) & Content Locking

Is it possible to have new posts go to a Group (in much the same way they can go to a Page).

Also, is it possible to restrict access to a Wordpress site based on whether a user is a member of a certain group?

I understand this can be done by using the JSDK, and Facebook App with groups permissions, and simply look for the presence of the Group ID in the user object. As I'm using Ultimate Facebook, I'd rather leverage it, than writing a separate set of code which includes an instance of JSDK etc.. However I don't want to modify the code of UF obviously... is there some way to instantiate UF and make use of it, through a separate plugin, or should I just do the group-content-locking isolated from UF?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi @andrew1,

This is a very interesting feature, but unfortunately it is not provided out of the box.
As you pointed out, both features are doable using the Graph API.

Looking into the code, you can write a separate plugin, check for UF plugin active, and then use some of the methods in UF models (i.e. post_on_facebook() ). Still you will need to overwrite options to change the $fid to the group id and maybe add some other tweaks. In this way, you will avoid duplication of the SDK code and modification of UF plugin, but it will probably be a mess honestly.

You will need to get your hands dirty, sorry.

Please let me know if you run into any issue with your custom implementation.
