Practical Examples when to use Membership Shortcode

Hi there,

after creating a new membership level the overview displays then a dedicated shortcode to each level.

Would you mind to give one better two example when to use best those shortcodes?

    Hey Prinz,

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Yes, so for the membership shortcode, it is most commonly used to protect content within a page or post.

For example, maybe you don’t want to protect the entire post – just 1 paragraph. Then you can do this:

    [ms-protect-content id="10"]
paragraph one - only seen by users with membership of id=10
paragraph two - seen by everyone

paragraph three - seen by everyone

That is one example. You can also use it in text widgets as well

A situation I saw another user using it yesterday was that they were a graphic designers and had a portfolio with their clients and on each client page they had the download link for that client to download the graphics or whatever other files they needed. Of course, they don’t want everyone to be able to download those materials but they do want everyone to see the rest of the portfolio page.

In that case they protected just the download link. ie:

    portfolio page content
    [ms-protect-content id="10"]
    download link
    more portfolio page content

Hope that helps clear things up Prinz! If you have any further questions on that just let us know

Hello Tyler, indeed this examples help to better understand a tiny little part out of the complex protected content module.

Much appreciated too the “simple words” you used… most helpful for us as we are still novices.

    Have a pleasant day.
