Privileges expire after 2nd subscription payment

I’ve had a couple users that have upgraded to a paid monthly subscription. Their site upgrades to the pro level normally upon their first initial payment. After a month, their privileges/site level seems to be downgraded to the basic subscription even after their 2nd subscription payment. Any idea what the cause of this might be?
