Problem with some scripts and flash on my website

it seems that I have problems with javascript and flash on my website. How can I check if they are working on wordpress or if something is disabling them?

    Hello Michael,

I hope you're well today and thank you for your question!

As for Flash. It's currently mostly blocked by default by browsers and soon may not be supported at all. I would recommend switching to other solutions if possible (depending on what are you using it for, that might be JS, some advanced CSS, HTML5 etc).

However, can you please elaborate a bit on the issues that you are experiencing with it as well as with JavaScript? Please share as much details about it as possible and I'll then check the site and see what could be done about that.

    Best regards,

  • Michael

    Hi Adam,

I run a script in the footer using javascript which shall display a SSL Seal but as you can see it does not show. It shall show on the right next to the Comodo Image. You can find the code in the upfront scribe and a widget in the footer. This script says only to enable javascript when javascript is enabled and working for other items.

Next go to Play and then Wheel. There I use a plugin online games with uses js or flash to call games. These games work outside my site in my browser but not within wordpress.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hey there Michael,

hope you're doing good and don't mind chiming in!

I just inspected the SSL script and it seems that brings an empty image. That's true even when I test this in a clean installation ike below:

I also tried the snippet as displayed here and that made no difference. I'd rather advise to AlphaSSL on this directly.

As for the game chess, I'm getting the following error message:

The web page at might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

which is true as this page resolves to a 404 page. I think that you should be searching for an alternative here.

Hope that was some help, let me know if further assistance is required here!
    Warm regards,

    Hello Michael!

The "mixed content" issue may unfortunately be a bit tricky in this case. With WordPress you could try Insecure Content Fixer plugin:

I'm afraid it might not work in this case though. If your site is running over https and that external one is available over http and only http, you can't rewrite it. You would either need to use some sort of proxy on your end - which is never a good idea - or maybe try excluding the page(s) that fetch content from that http-only site from SSL? That should work I think if that particular page that contains the game served over http would be excluded from SSL and served over http connection too. I'm not sure though if that would be an acceptable solution. If not though, I'm afraid it may turn out to be a matter of convincing admins to implement SSL.

    Best regards,
