Prosite free trial can't upgrade before it ends

Hello,

When a site is on a free trial , the site is not able to upgrade the plan even after making a success payment through paypal sandbox.

    Hello,
Okay i thought while user was on a free trial and if they decide to get pro plan, they would be able to pay for it and then start using the paid plan. But if thats not the case then im goin do a test by setting the trial for 1 day and paid for it within the free trial to see if i will be able access a paid plan after the free trial.

Are you saying that your users are not getting their paid account after the trial has ended?

Im about to test it like that to see. So im going to setup a 1 day trial, pay for a paid plan and then see if i will be able to access that paid plan. Will report back to this post within 24 hours.

    Thanks

    Hi Thomas,

With trial period you still have same options as paid member.
So, for example, if you have trial period of one month and plan for 12 months, users will have 13 months full access, but if this was to work differently than the users that pay right away will only have 12 months while those that pay at the end of trial period will have 13 months of full access, and that doesn't sound fair

Let us know how the testing goes.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

To clarify on this thread and how the free trial actually works:

    Scenario 1
Free trial Level is level 1 for 30 days.

User signs up for level 1 free trial, after 10 days they want to upgrade to level 3 - they modify their subscription payment and immediately gain access to level 3. However, they are not charged anything until the end of the initial 30 days.
Additionally, they are not sent the "Thank you for becoming a pro site member email"

    Scenario 2
Free Trial Level is level 1 for 30 days.
User selects Level 3. They are immediately charged for first month and gain access to level 3. They are sent "Thank you for becoming a pro site member" email.

    Scenario 3
Free Trial level is set for level 3 30 days.
User selects level 1. Immediately charged for level 1 and sent "Thank you for becoming pro site member" email.

    Conclusion:
Users can get a "free trial" of any level by first selecting the free trial level and then upgrading or downgrading. They'll gain access to upper levels without being immediately charged (like they would had they selected higher level on initial checkout).

Additionally, there is inconsistency in the "thank you for becoming a pro site member" email.

It is ONLY triggered if a user DOESN'T first select the free trial level. It is also NOT triggered immediately if a user upgrades from free trial level to higher level.

    How it should work

Free trial should be available to ANY/ All levels, or just a selected level (based on admin selection)

As soon as payment information is entered, whether an initial payment, or a scheduled subscription payment the "thanks for becoming a pro-site member" email should be triggered.
Once payment is entered, users should be considered paying members.

    Hi Daniel,

This thread is quite outdated now and is referring to older version of the plugin, could you please start a new thread with this and we will look into it.
