Protected Content: URL Group protection does not allow you to select membership tier

I'm using CoursePress. The courses are set as FREE. I want users to pay a monthly subscription to access all courses. I'm using Protected Content to achieve this.

Here is the challenge:
- CoursePress courses and individual units do not create actual pages, that Protected Content recognizes in the "Protected Content > Pages" tab.
- I was told to use URL Groups to get around this problem. However, when you use the "URL Group" tab the URL Groups listed only offer a simple member/not-member protection. There is no option to select WHICH member tiers can access each URL Group.

I need the visitor to be able to browse/view:
1) The list of courses
2) The units within a course
3) Limited Units that I select as viewable for free

I need tier 1 (Basic) subscribers to view:
1) All of the above
2) All Units in selected (limited) courses
x) No access to Unit pages with Assessment questions
x) No access to Discussion
x) No access to Workbook

I need tier 2 (Premium) subscribers to view:
1) All of the above
2) All Units in selected (limited) courses
x) Full access to Unit pages with Assessment questions
x) Full access to Discussion
x) Full access to Workbook

Protected Content works beautifully with regular WP pages, but it's not so easy with CoursePress unit and course pages.

Please let me know how I can accomplish the objectives above.

Thanks in advance!

    Hey BGF,

    Hope you're doing well today!

There is no option to select WHICH member tiers can access each URL Group.

You can turn access to url groups on and off per tier by editing the content for that tier  I have attached a screenshot to illustrate.

This way you can add all content that needs to be protected via url groups and then turn it on/off for each specific membership level.

    How does that sound?

Let us know if you need any further assistance here

    Cheers,
    Tyler

    Oh Brilliant!

    Thank you. One question:

How do you get separate URL groups in the URL Groups tab's text area? When I enter different URL's in each line, they show up as one URL in the Edit Content screen.

Your Screen shot shows individual URL's. How did you do that?

    Hey there, BGF!

I just tried on my own site and I see what Tyler does, the URLs are each on their own line in the Membership settings.

Nothing is sticking out to me in your plugins list, but would you mind doing a super quick conflict test to determine whether or not that's the issue? De-activate all your plugins except Protected Content, then check the URL groups settings in your memberships again. If they're all on the same line, we know there's a plugin interfering. Turn your plugins back on one by one until you find the one that's making the URL groups field go wonky.

If it's one of our plugins, or a plugin we can get our hands on, we can test and see if we can find out why it's interfering.

    Thanks, BGF!
