Pulling my hair out!

ok...

I have setup Auto-Blog using this template... Blogs MU
I have also used this template as my main site and have not encountered these issues so here goes...

First. I activated the widgets to come up on the right side of the page but for some reason they are coming up on the left side of the main page. And then when I click to go to a sub page of the site the widgets appear on the right side of the page like they are supposed to.... Not sure what is going on here. I would like the widgets to show on the right side on all pages. including the main page.

2nd. When logged in I am able to see the site like it is supposed to look (Except the Widgets being on the left on Main site( Item #1)
When I am logged out, the main page shows correct but when I click on a link on the main page and go into the site the widget board on the right disappears along with the footer of the template...

See example. http://www.zblogging.com/realnewsupdates/

When you go there you will see main page.. Click on one of the links in the page and you will see the widgets move to the right well I should say white space where the widgets should be and scrolling down the footer of the page is missing... Along with an Adsense ad...

Please help..
Thanks Tim

    Greetings Tim,

Sorry to see that you are having an issue with your WordPress installation and the AutoBlog plugin with the Blogs MU theme.

First. I activated the widgets to come up on the right side of the page but for some reason they are coming up on the left side of the main page.

I am not aware of a side bar available on the Home page, actually there are no side bars on the left side or right side of the Home page.

Please supply a screen shot and/or the URL.

I do see in the theme options where there is a choice of left sidebar and right sidebar, but this is for pages/posts after the home page. And you have this set for the right side?

Please advise to all of the above and I look forward to hearing form you in any event.

    Cheers, Joe

    Greetings Tim,

Thank you for that great additional detail which is very helpful and thank you for posting the URL to a page to check out.

When checking the page for issues (i.e. Chrome of Firefox control+shift+J) I came up with a few issues that are certainly coming into play there and possibly causing your on again off again experience with the Floating Social plugin.

Errors shown in my screen shot below.

To figure this out it is time to go into full blown trouble shooting mode because it appears there may be some conflict there and one way to find out conclusively.

Standard plugin trouble shooting protocol - first to switch to the Twenty Eleven theme just long enough to check for the problem - if the problem still exists next involves deactivating all plugins except the plugin in question and then see if the issue still exists.

If it does not, then you want to activate plugins one at a time testing in between to see if the issue returns. Even when you find one plugin, it may be in your interest to deactivate the problem plugin and continue testing the rest of the plugins to insure no others are also conflicting.

You will know the conflict when the issue returns and which plugin(s) you activated that cause the issue.

Please advise if there are any plugin conflicts and if so what the plugins are that are conflicting.

    Cheers, Joe
