Question on database and plugin cleanup

I just re-designed my wordpress site with a new theme.

We disabled a ton of plugins ( like forums and buddypress )

My question:

When I delete these unused plugins, does it delete any SQL values ?

Because right now, I have many rows that are dedicated to buddypress or the forums which I don't need anymore.

I wonder if these are causing any efficiency issues ?

Should I go in and DELETE some of those tables in my database ?

Thanks.

    Hi @josh_eberly,

    Thank you for your question.

When I delete these unused plugins, does it delete any SQL values ?

It depends on the plugin you have deactivated. If the plugin contains code that deletes its data stored in the database then it removes the data but the most of the plugin don't do this as it is risky.

I wonder if these are causing any efficiency issues ?

If you have a lot of unused data stored in the database then it will do affect the efficiency.

Should I go in and DELETE some of those tables in my database ?

Yes you can but before doing this take a backup of whole database.

You will find the following plugins useful to do this.
