    Hello cornelius_butler,

I hope you are well today.

A cautionary note before beginning: Please make a backup of your entire site before removing any files through defender. This can save a lot of headaches later on.

Those files do not look like they are a part of the WordPress core and should be safe to be removed. If you look at the following screenshot, you will see the structure of a default WordPress install. Screenshot: https://goo.gl/zxXvDm

So, those files are either remnants of a previous site, or files that have been added maliciously. That is, assuming they are all in the web root of your site. The safest bet is to download a fresh copy of WordPress and compare the files listed in that archive with what is on your site. You can download a fresh copy of WordPress at the following URL: https://wordpress.org/latest.zip

I hope this clarifies a bit.

    Best regards,

    James Morris
