Redirect domains to single domain

I have recenty moved my website to a single wordpress install. When it was in Multisite we were using WPMU domian mapping, which automacially redirected requests made to and to

But sadly, domain mapping doesn't work on a single site install and now I can't seem to find a good way to forward my domain.

I've tried adding the following to my .htaccess:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^cuartetotanguero\.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.cuartetotanguero\.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ [R=301,L]

But that gives me a "too many redirects" error which seems to indicate the conditions are matching the new site.... I don't know why.

I've tried using the Redirection plugin, but can seem to get it to match domains, just paths.

Can you recommend the best way to acomplish this. It seem to recall wordpress having an option to force a specific domain but maybe that isn't accurate.

Thank you for your help.

Hey Benjmain ! You can check out another plugin like,, otherwise forwarding your domain to the different URL is not difficult, in you hosting dash. If you have cPanel at your registrar it's super easy to register a Domain Forwarder so that anyone inputting your domain name will be directed seamlessly to the other URL.

Then so that your site still shows correctly on the address bar, go to WordPress Dashboard/Settings/General and change the WordPress address.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello Benjmain
If is no longer a sub-site the mapping and redirect should not be needed. unless you still want to redirect users to the sub-domain.

What you can do instead of redirecting to, point domain to the single install directory. Same way it was pointed to multisite for mapping.

You can also try adding these to wp-config.php to force domain.

    Hope that addresses the issue.

I actually want to force the domain to cPanel forwarding didn't work, so I thought I'd try here.
Unfortunately the site currently has much bigger problems (which is why I didn't get notified about the reply to this ticket) and the host isn't being helpful. Once I get the larger problems I'll come back here to figure this out.
