as mine do not take me to welcome page after signup process is finished
plus on top of that
when using Popup registration form http://screencast.com/t/IS3dPgSgJ and the Enable incomplete signup accounts box is settings is NOT checked http://screencast.com/t/9JhWLOJ44eO none of the registrations is redirected to Welcome page and registered account ends up being inactive
once the Enable incomplete signup accounts box is settings is checked - none of the registrations is redirected to Welcome page but is at least the registered account becomes active account and user can log in automatically
