Remove Comment boxes on sales pages

Hi all!

Currently, in my Marketpress/Gridpress theme, my store pages have a blog comment area at the bottoms of all the pages. Client would rather these not be there, but on a separate page.

I think a conditional statement is needed?? But I'm a PHP beginner and don't know how to write it or where to put it. Can anybody help?

I looked in the general settings for Themes, Writing, and Discussion, but can't see a place to set each page's blog entry state.

Hey there @Barbara Davis you would need to hire someone to do this type of customisation for you. You could try . that or see if you have a friend who could handle it for you. You really need to be able to examine the code as quite often a change in one area could affect another.

You can normally switch off comments by using the discussion setting and then set comments to off, that's fine but any pages etc created before this would need it to be done manually.

Relocating them is the customisation part.

Tom, thank you so much for your answer -- But whoa, really?

The regular "discussion" settings are not working in this case. I would hope WPMU DEV can point me in the right direction to write or procure a conditional PHP statement that will turn off comments on product pages and my main product page galleries. I am not a TOTAL rank beginner, and I've gotten some help from places like; I'm not a PHP expert, but surely, there's a place in the functions.php page where I can place a statement that will prevent "Leave a reply" from showing on my main product pages?
Seriously, would such a piece of code cost more than my $79/month membership? Just asking.

Again, I'm very grateful for response and help -- just not 100% on board with your suggestion I "can't get there from here..."

    Best to all,
    Barbara D.

    Greetings Barbara Davis,

Thank you for your additional input and persistence in getting this issue resolved.

I visited your site and found that you have indeed managed to get the comments closed on your site but still have the "Comments are closed." appearing on your site still and I assume you would probably like to get rid of that as well?

If this is indeed in your interest I would recommend using the Ultimate Branding plugin, specifically the Network Wide Text Change module to get rid of this closed statement.

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe
