Removing Buddy Press

Hello: I think buddy press is confusing the difference between allowing visitors to register/sign up for a website (my major goal) and creating a social environment (not that important right now). How can I disable all buddy press functionality without removing from the site if I decide to incorporate later on?

Also, is it buddypress or wordpress that incorporates the admin bar? I am hoping it is wordpress. Thanks.

    Hi randit,

You can simply deactivate BuddyPress and that'll take care of removing all the BuddyPress features that it appears you may not need.

You could potentially test out whether you'd like to keep BuddyPress or not. You can activate/deactivate it at your leisure from your Network Admin -> Plugins list.

Also, BuddyPress does have its own adminbar, but WordPress provides one just the same, so with BuddyPress deactivated you'll see the regular WordPress adminbar in place of it.
