Replicated Website for MLM Company using Wordpress for front end

Dear Team:
I need some help and hope you can direct me. We are using/building an enterprise system for a new MLM company temporarily at http://www.foreverhealthy.ph . We are using WordPress for the front end with lots of product and other information and multiple databases and reports and ordering products on the backend written in different custom programming language.

We want to provide a duplicate of the http://www.foreverhealthy.ph website for each member showing their username such as: http://www.foreverhealthy.ph/USERNAME . and then provide them with a new site with their own URL upon signing up automatically. Then, if somebody orders from the new URL we provide, it will also automatically go the new distributor's back office where he will get the credit for the sale. Similar to an affiliate sales program but for a full blown MLM operation.

We looked at the Plugin Multiisite but don't think that will provide the solution as we don't just want to copy the site for a new location etc. We just want to make access to the front end WordPress site and then direct it to the distributors back office.

I am wondering if you can recommend a Plug in, a solution or a resource provider that might be able to assist us. I hope and pray you can get back to me soon. Currently, i am in the Philippines and can be contacted by email or phone which is +xxxxxx or Skype which is xxxxxx from USA. note actual site we are trying first is http://www.foreverhealthy.ph and will also want to do http://www.iamforeverrich.org

    Hey @Leon Katz,

Hope you're doing well today

Now regarding your question about site setup.

Are you already using some eCommerce solution on your site that you are looking to customize how it works or you still don't have it and are looking for a selling solution as well?

We have MarketPress eCommerce plugin here:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/e-commerce/

With MarketPress you can create additional stores for your member but this requires you to have WordPress Multisite installation.
Plugin also comes with PayPal chained payments that is used to take certain percentage from each sale made by your subsite users.

Other solution I see, without using multisite, would be to create product categories that will match seller name and that way filter products per seller.
There is also TT Mp-FrontEnd Plugin which should enable your sellers to create products from front end of your site, but note that this plugin is not developed by us so we can't guarantee how it will work.

Also, this second setup would be more complicated and you would probably need help from a developer to get everything customized to work the way you are looking for.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

Thank you for the email response. I still don't know where to turn. Yes, I might want to use the ecommerce plug in you talked about but my first issue and post is about the "Replicating Website" for word press for a MLM/Affiliate sign up so they can use the site and information in their marketing but have a URL being http://www.mywebsite.com/THEIRUSERNAME

Then, if a new or potential customer is on that site, and clicks the Buy button it will then go to their merchant account or order screen along with back office. It will then point to the back office of the distributor with all the options in that system for them to look at including the buy now page..... etc.

So, the issue remains in that as soon as somebody signs up on anybody's url http://www.mywebsite.com/THEIRUSERNAME then the the new site will automatically be created automatically for the new member under them and the distributor will then have a new sub-distributor with his own replicated site and username.

So, is it the case that Multisite can automatically do that? Do you know a developer or expert who knows multisite or who might be able to help me? Do you have any suggestion...

For our new MLM company, we are using Wordpress for our information for everybody and anybody to see then it goes to an enterprise system for other things.

Can you please give me either direction, advise or refer me to a resource that would know about this?

Any help you give me is very much appreciated.

The second issue I have is if you could make a recommendation as to security or firewalls etc to protect me from hackers... Is there any security plug ins that you could recommend that will protect the master site as well as each replicated site?

    Sincerely,

    Hey Leon,

When using Multisite network, you have option for users to register only username or both username and site, once you have your stores up and running on subsite you can enable only user registration so no new sites will be created and users will be able to purchase from existing sites.

We have New Blog Templates plugin available which will allow your sellers to choose from default templates you create (or have only one if you create one).
This way they will not start from scratch, but rather already have theme, plugin and other settings imported.

When using Multisite you have a option to choose between sub-domain or sub-folder installation, sub-domain sub-sites will have structure URL as newsite.mydomain.com and sub-domain sub-sites will have URL as mydomain.com/newsite, so in your case second option should work for you.

Then, if a new or potential customer is on that site, and clicks the Buy button it will then go to their merchant account or order screen along with back office. It will then point to the back office of the distributor with all the options in that system for them to look at including the buy now page..... etc.

Could you please elaborate this part a bit more and give us some additional info?
If the products are listed on main site clicking on buy button will redirect customer to product page on sub-site which is offering the product in question (I'm talking about MarketPress here).

This would be quite a large project and we will try to help with any questions down the road but if you need help of a developer you can post a Job on our jobs board:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/wpmu-jobs/
Please note that, no WPMU official staff members are allowed to work in the job board.

The second issue I have is if you could make a recommendation as to security or firewalls etc to protect me from hackers... Is there any security plug ins that you could recommend that will protect the master site as well as each replicated site?

May I suggest going through this blog post about WordPress security, I believe you find some great suggestions there:

    Predrag
