Restricting multiple sign up and pulling child theme

Hello.

I just started using the Membership 2 plugin. I have 2 question for shich I can not find documentation.

1) when someone registers they are able to set up a multi site. How to do ensure that only the people that pay can set it up, and more importantly that they only set up 1.

2) How do I get the new multi site to pull the child theme automatically?

    Hi William

Hope you had a wonderful day.

    1) when someone registers they are able to set up a multi site. How to do ensure that only the people that pay can set it up, and more importantly that they only set up 1

I think more appropriate plugin for you will be “Pro Sites“. With Pro Sites, you can create paid levels for users, set different restrictions for different levels etc. To know more about Pro Sites usage, you can check this page: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/pro-sites/#product-usage

    2) How do I get the new multi site to pull the child theme automatically?

We have a dedicated blog post for this: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/how-to-set-the-default-theme-for-wordpress-multisite/

The difference is, you will be using child themes instead of the main theme.

Please let us know if you have any confusion. We will be glad to help.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Thank you for your reply.

The problem is the membership plugin has the features that we want. Specifically that we can create our own sign up form using other plugins and features. Pro Sites is a little to restricting. It is only this one feature that we are missing. We want to limit the number of blogs each member will be able to have. In some case several but in most cases just one. Any suggestions?

    Hello William,

I’m afraid this is not possible with the Membership 2 Pro. This plugin purpose is to protect content (posts, pages, media) – and not to restrict creating blogs.

You would need to use additional plugin to achieve that limitation https://github.com/toddnestor/wp_limit_blogs_per_user (this is fork of plugin from repository that will work with WP above 4.0)

If you will use Pro Sites to handle blog creation you should be able to use Membership 2 pro to protect only pro site page from unrestricted access – so only logged in members of specific membership will be able to create new blogs.

    kind regards,

    Kasia

There was a generic php server error. We had to manually deactivate prosite in order the the site to work. We didn’t take note of the exact error. We will attempt to recreate the situation later today. In the meantime if there is any documentation on the two plugins interacting please send me a link.
