Rolles in the WP system and in the CoursePress Pro

Hi I have noted that an administrator on a sub site blog, can not change users to another role. They travel up white screen with "this has not allowed hands to change." Why can an administrator do not change roles on their own site blog?

Another question is, when I add an instructor, and he agrees, where he is listed as a user without a role? Why and how we change this?

Thanks for good support! (-:

    Hi morfjord,
Hope you are doing good today

WP Multisite Administrators can't edit users. From WPMU2.9.2 Administrators couldn't edit users, only SiteAdmin(now SuperAdmin). WP single, yes.

In multisite, users belong to the network first, then have roles/capabilities to certain sites. Therefore, only the SuperAdmin can edit users.

A user carries the same(only) profile from site to site throughout your network. In multisite, a user may typically be an admin of their own site, while a subscriber of several others. You can't allow any admin to change the password of a subscriber as it will also change the password they use to get into the site(s) they admin.

Editing users belong only to SuperAdmin->Users. Further, in multisite when editing any user, as a SuperAdmin, any user can be promoted to SuperAdmin.

However, since you just want to change the role of a user then you can do it without actually editing the profile.

Just to got your SubSite -> Users -> All Users -> Select user(s) you want to change role -> From Actions row on the top -> Select the role under dropdown of Change role to… and click on Change (see screenshot).

Hope that helps! Feel free to post a reply if you need further assistance

    Best Regards,

    Hello morfjord

I tested this on my site and as a site administrator I was able to change another user's user role.

I did the same on your site, create a new administrator user and went ahead and changed another user user role successfully.

Would you please try it again? Change with subsite administrator another user's user role and let us know how it went.

If you still can't do this, please post here a screencast so I could replicate it on my site.

    Cheers,
    Nastia
