Thanks for your assistance with this. It has since occurred to me that we did update to PHP 7 a couple of weeks ago. Although everything has seemed to be working fine I am wondering if this issue is related.

I have tried disabling all plugins and still have no luck at all. I don’t have a C-panel that I can give you access to however I can include WP login and FTP details I hope this is ok.
