Server error status: OK [200] Affiliates Plugin

Trying to install the Affiliates plugin and getting Server error status: OK [200]. The WPMUDEV Dashboard plugin is up to date, and WordPress is at version is 4.7.2, which should be fine. Please advise. I have seen several others reporting these types of issues lately.

    Hey there lperrie,

    How are you doing today?

    The "200" status means that the connection to the external server (our servers in that case) has been successful, which is an expected status but it shouldn't be showed to you during install.

    Before we proceed with anything else can you double check if the plugin is actually installed by going to Plugins -> All plugins.

    If it doesn't show there, please give following steps a try:

    1. Access your site via FTP and see if there's a "affiliate" folder inside "/wp-content/plugins" folder. If it's there please delete it and try to run the installation again.

    2. Make sure that the "/wp-content/plugins" folder permissions are set to 0755

    3. If there's any cache on your site (a caching plugin such as e.g. W3 Total Cache or similar and/or server-side cache), clear all the caches and disable it temporarily (if possible)

    4. Give it another try then please.

    4.a You can also try manually installing the plugin by downloading it here, extracting and uploading to /wp-content/plugins/ folder.

    If it still doesn't work, please add following lines to the "wp-config.php" file of your site:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

    These lines should be located above the "/* That's all, stop editing... */" and will turn on internal WordPress debugging. Once they are there, please repeat steps 1-4 above and then:

    - download the "debug.log" file from "/wp-content/" folder of your WordPress install on your server
    - rename the file to "debug.txt"
    - attach it to your post here.

    Hey lperrie,

    Well that's something that you can always default back to, it could be that this was just a temporary issue in communication and given that the error is saying everything is good is kinda confusing.

    Of course we want to make sure that installing plugins works via WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin so if you end up having issues with that again we can definitely try to investigate this further.
