Set domain mapping to membership level?

Hi. I am wondering if it is possible to set the domain mapping feature to a membership level as opposed to enabling it for pro-sites all together.

Levels: 1, 2, 3, 4
Enable domain mapping for Levels 3 & 4 only.

    Hi Johnny,

Hi there and welcome to the WPMUdev Support Forums!

Short answer is, no, you can't. Sorry. But wait! The good members of the WPMUdev community have a solution!, Well, kinda...

As it stands right now, Domain Mapping will work for anyone who has a site on a Multisite installation if the plugin is installed and ProSites isn't. But anyone who has a site is going to be a Admin of that site, so levels can't really come into play at the user level.

Enter ProSites. Now you can create upgrade levels for your sites. The problem is, though there's no way to differentiate between the levels. That is, if you aren't a ProSite you won't get Domain Mapping, but if you are a ProSite, no matter what level, Domain Mapping is theoretically available.

Enter EasyBlogging. Or at least you can invite that plugin in and then force the sites who are signed up at lower levels to use EasyBlogging. In this way, they won't see the standard menu where the domain mapping menu would be visible.

Kind of workaround that's pretty reasonable. Make sense?

Let me know how that goes for you.
