Several issues regarding my Contact Page (Theme Vierra)

hope you can help me with tuning my contact page:

1st of all I would like to send it a copy of the message to the sender of the message, too, if that is possible.

2nd I am looking for a good “anti-spam”-plugin. There are so many – anyone can suggest me a good (and lightweight) one? Thank you!

EDIT: 3rd: I would prefer an additional field for “Telephone” and one for “adress”, too – the telephone being mandatory

    Hi there @matthias

    I hope you’re having a great day!

Adding more fields to the form is possible, so is sending a copy to the sender. But you may want to consider using a plugin designed specifically for contact forms, rather than trying to manually customize the theme template.

There are many good contact form plugins that enable you to create any kind of layout & form that you want with just a few clicks. One of the most popular and well-supported is Contact For 7:

And there’s a plugin for a honeypot for that one too:

Then there’s one of my all-time favorites: Formidable Forms. Even the free version has a good contact form template built-in:

Hi Patrick, thanks for you answer. As a last resort I would certainly consider another plugin – only I run this site with >50 plugins already, so whenever I can save one, I would prefer that. AND whatever plugin I tried so far that made any forms/pages/posts – they never play well with my theme and need LOTS of customization, too. So I hope you understand my hesitation…

    Hello there @matthias,

I hope you are going well today.

I certainly understand your hesitation, and I agree running a site with 50 plugins starts to be quite much, let’s hope they’re all reliable and well coded.

However, you have not much alternative to accomplish what you want, you could run a PHP script on your contact page that would “send a copy of the message to the sender of the message” but you will have to run a plugin that will allow you to post PHP on a WordPress page.

So, I’m not sure what theme you are running that prevents so much contact form plugins to work, but yet the Contact Form 7 suggested is very flexible, well coded and light weight, and rarely shows incompatibility with themes. Did you try it, and if so what was the problem you’re experiencing?

    Let me know, please.
