Several questions about blogsmu theme

I have another thread going right now re: the header. Figured I should start another one for these questions. I have looked in the fourms for answers and can't find them. Thanks in advance for you support and great themes/plugins.

1) I like and want to keep the "Your Network sub intro post text" but I have trouble getting the text to go across on one line on the home page.
Here are some examples:

This is what I want on secondary page:
http://entrepreneurcommunityonlineresourcecenter.com/category/new-posts-this-week/

This is how it turns out on the home page:
http://entrepreneurcommunityonlineresourcecenter.com/
----see how it wraps around?

2) Is there anyway I can shrink the space between the menu bar and the page/post title?

Here is an example: http://www.yourvitaledge.com/influence/

3) I notice on this site and others that have this theme, the mobile view is great except for one thing. The text of any page/post hugs the left side almost to the point where it appears to be cut off. Is there a way to change this a little bit?

4) Finally, is there anyway to hyper link the image on the home page, here is an example:
http://www.yourvitaledge.com/

I have "my custom css" plugin installed if that helps and I have given support access.

Once again, thank you very much for all your help! Linda @iempower

    Hey Linda,

    I hope you're well today and thank you for your questions!

    1) I like and want to keep the "Your Network sub intro post text" but I have trouble getting the text to go across on one line on the home page.

    I admit that I'm not sure which text you're referring to. Could you please elaborate a bit on this? A screenshot with arrows or underlines would be just great :slight_smile:

    2) Is there anyway I can shrink the space between the menu bar and the page/post title?

    Here is an example: http://www.yourvitaledge.com/influence/

    To do this, you'll want to use this CSS rule:

    .panel {display:none;}

    This will completely hide this "space". Please note though that there's actually a slogan there saying "Do You Want More Vitality, Productivity & Influence?". It's not visible because it's written in white. In case you'd like to keep this slogan instead of removing an empty space use this rule (instead of aforementioned one):

    #header-name-alt {color:#000000!important;}

    The color I used here is black (#000000) but you may want to use different one.

    3) I notice on this site and others that have this theme, the mobile view is great except for one thing. The text of any page/post hugs the left side almost to the point where it appears to be cut off. Is there a way to change this a little bit?

    This rules should be of help here:

    .post-content {padding:25px 10px!important;}
    h1.post-title {padding:0px 10px!important;}

    Of course instead of 10px (second parameter for both rules) you may want to try a bit larger or smaller value.

    4) Finally, is there anyway to hyper link the image on the home page, here is an example:
    http://www.yourvitaledge.com/

    It can be hyperlinked but not with CSS rules. Depending on how your theme is build there might be an option in theme settings to add a hyperlink to a featured front-page image. Otherwise, you may want to create a simple child theme of your current theme and tweak your front page template. You'd want to wrap the code that's inside the

    <div id="intro-featured-img">
    </div>

    block with tags like this:

    <div id="intro-featured-img">
    <a href="http://yourlink.com">
    /... here's an existing template code.../
    </a>
    </div>

    Here's more information on child theme creation:

    I hope that helps and if you have any further questions on this, I'll be glad to assist!

    Cheers,
    Adam

    I am fine, thanks for your quick response!

    1) I am including screen shots. So, the first screen shot is of the home page where I have inserted the "Your Network sub intro post text". Is there anyway I can get that text all on one line?

    2) The 2nd shot is of an interior page where that "Your Network sub intro post text" appears. I didn't realize that the letters were white, which acconts for why I have the gap! I looked in theme settings to see if I had mistakenly inserted white instead of black and don't see it. So, I added your code to change the color. Now all is fine!

    3) I added in that snippet and tried the mobile view - it's perfect, thank you!

    4) This theme does not allow for hyperlinking that image that I can see. I will try to figure something else out.

    Thanks as always for your help! You all are awesome! Linda @iempoweru

    I then checked all my theme settings to see where I might have made a color choice white rather than the black. Didn't see it so I put in the

    Hey Linda!

    I'm glad that helped!

    4) This theme does not allow for hyperlinking that image that I can see. I will try to figure something else out.

    In this case the only solution I can think of is to create a child theme of your current theme, then copy the front page template file to this child theme's folder and include changes I've mentioned in my previous answer.

    Apart from this, it seems that you post got cut off somehow in a middle of a sentence and there's no screenshots. Would you please be so kind and supplement this? :slight_smile:

    Thanks,
    Adam
