Several WPMU domains

I've had an issue that I solved my own way. I have a wpmu website where I want users to be able to choose from 3 domains. However, I don't want a signup to block up the blogname on all 3 domains at once.

So when someone signs up for name.domain1.com I don't want them to block up name.domain2.com for someone else to register. I tried different things for this but in the end I used 3 separate installs with customized signup pages. The downside of this is that you would have to re-register to have 2 blogs on separate domains.

Anyone had this concern?

    Hello,

I was wondering somethink along those lines but in my case I would like to allow people to signup to one primary WP.Mu:

    username.mothership.com

And after they use domain mapping, allow them (Supporters / Upgrades) to use:

    theirdomain.com/blog1
    theirdomain.com/blog2
    theirdomain.com/blog3
    etc.

This would also allow me to setup diferent blog networks within one WP.Mu Install.

    Thanks,
    W.

Yeah that would be good. I would basically like 1 wpmu install that handles the fact that it's got more than 1 domain. When someone registers they choose one of the domains and they can create more blogs on any of the different domains.

May want to search the mu forums as I remember someone working out a plugin to do this. "Select domain upon signup" would be a good start

*sigh* wp.org got listed as a porn site yet again and Google does not exist. Gotta love the library. :slight_frown:
