shortage of features in membership plugin

Membership pro appears to only cater for collecting membership fees and setting expiration dates. If I am missing something, please feel free to point it out. There appears to be no way of filtering users and creating/saving a mailing list based on specific parameters. We need to make notes and be able to review these notes based on conversations/incidents with members. Have a record of email correspondence with members – in other words, have a “paper-trail” of correspondence. We currently have these features available in a dedicated hosting site we now use (in fact, we have two dedicated membership sites – NationBuilder and Wild Apricot). We decided to host our own sites, but there appears to be a huge shortcoming in membership plugins. I hope I’ve got this wrong, if so, can you point me in the right direction…

    Perhaps we don’t mean the same thing when we say “membership”?

    A membership is a paid subscription that grants you some benefits, nothing more than that.

    What you’re describing seems more like client relations management… in which case what you want is definitely not a membership plugin!! I would advise you to take a look for a CRM instead.
