Shortcodes for Directory plugin

Hello again. Can you see the following and tell me why the buttons are not showing when using shortcodes? Also, how would I adjust the style of the directory pages(s)?

    Hey there @Paul

Welcome to the forums, glad to have you aboard!

This is what appears in the source code of your page as the image for each of your buttons:
    <img src="someimage.jpg">

That is simply the default placeholder text in the button shortcode. You need to replace that with actual URLs to images.

The easiest way to do that is to upload the images/icons you want to use for each button to your media library. Then replace the default text with the real URL to the image for each button.

    Example here:

As for adjusting the style, that depends on what you want to adjust and how you want it to look.

The easiest way is using custom CSS that you can add to your site using a simple plugin like this one:

I hope this helps! And thanks for being a member

Hi, thanks for your reply. Why doesn't the theme come with icons?? It would make things a lot easier as I'm not 100% good with CSS. The plugin looks good, but without instructions as to where to put the code it's no use.

I thought the plugin could be up and running in 30 minutes according to this website, but unless you have CDD experience and have a stock library of icons and buttons you cannot use it???

I have used an online builder to design a good looking button in CSS, but where would this code go to place the ugly ones on the plugin?

Sorry for all the questions, but I thought this would be easier than it actually is.

    Hi again @Paul

Terribly sorry about the delay here. Concerns for family health issues have kept me away from the forums quite a bit these last few weeks.

Why doesn't the theme come with icons??

The shortcodes available to generate the buttons were designed to allow you to include any content you like in the buttons, even videos!

Simply add whatever you want displayed in the button between the opening & closing parts of the shortcode. Here's an example button with a YouTube video embedded just for fun:

    [dr_listings_btn view="always"]
<h3>Watch the video below, or click anywhere in this grey box to view our listings.</h3></br>
    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    See it here:
