Sign up form edit??

Ok...odd question and I can't seem to find where I could do this.
I had a few people confused on the sign up page where is has this question:
"Blog URL" (required)"
http://sitename.tld/ [Link adjusted ~ drmike]
(and then the box for them to put the name)

Well... some of these people are totally new to blogging and were confused thinking that it was asking for an existing URL of theirs to put in that empty box, especially since it is below, instead of right next to the site name. So, what I'd like to be able to add is simply the word "Requested" in front of the word "Blog"... so it would say "Requested Blog URL"

Is this possible to add a simple word to the sign up form? And if so... where?

Thanks!

    Hiya momsnet,

That I know of, there's no 'simple' way to make this addition. I have seen similar instances as you though and believe in focusing in on the words that make the most sense for your site and your users.

To do this, you'd have to re-create your own WordPress wp-signup.php page. It's not as complicated as you might think. It involves:
creating your own file in your theme.
copying all the info from the original wp-signup.php to your new copy.
editing your copy so that the text and styling matches what you want.
finally, making sure all signup links point to your new page either through an .htaccess edit or an mu-plugin.

We've discussed this before and you can take a look at the custom wp-content tags I've placed on this thread or by reading this one:

    Hope this helps. Thanks!
