Simple question - How to edit "About Page" in scribe

Team - simple question - We have a site with an About page that was already created. After installing upfront and scribe - the theme's about page is "in the way" and blocking our about page. We can't seem to edit this "default about page".

We can't just rename our about page because this bogus default will show up in search engines. How can we edit this?

PS: Please don't tell us to edit the code directly, and please don't try and justify why you did this with fancy explanations - Please just tell us how **or** modify the theme to not overwrite potentially pre-existing pages. The wpmu subscription is supposed to make life EASIER, not more difficult - this is what we PAY for folks.

    Hi there @warith

Welcome to WPMU DEV, glad to have you aboard!

I just did a bit of testing on my own install, and you are absolutely correct. If a page already exists with the same slug as used by an Upfront page, the pre-existing page content is no longer accessible. Changing the page slug or the template used has no effect.

It would be preferable that Upfront themes hook into the WordPress process of appending a number to existing slugs to differentiate between them. Or, if such pages are detected when the theme is activated, display a prompt to either replace or keep the original, or keep both.

I have marked this as a bug, and have notified the theme developers of the issue. Thanks for bringing this up with us!
