Simple:Press fatal error during install

I'm attempting to install Simple:stuck_out_tongue:ress in a brand new WPMU installation with goal of using Pro-sites, but I keep getting the following fatal error during activation of the SP plugin:

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 72 bytes) in /home/hearye/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on
line 3847"

Here's what I've tried to date but to no avail:

-- Confirmed my WP installation meets SP's minimum specs.
-- Confirmed I have ample memory.
-- I have tried the activation with all plugins turned off.
-- I have tried activating the plug-in network-wide and via my single-site.
-- Confirmed my WP installation is up-to-date.
-- Confirmed that SP is being used by others MU users without any (serious) problems.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

My hosting service is fairly confident I have ample resources, but given that I tried the install on another WP installation (on the same server) and got the same error, perhaps there's a resource constraint somewhere.

I have another support ticket in now with my hosting service and we'll give that a try.

    Thanks!

    Ari,

I've tried to re-run the activation again, this time with the greatly increased memory limits, but I'm still getting the same fatal error.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

    Follow-up:

If it helps, here's the latest details from my hosting service concerning the error in the Functions.php module and the memory changes they tried.

Per their suggesting I've again tried to reactivate the plug-in, but I'm still getting the same fatal error.

    Thanks!

    Success!

Turned out to be a few errant lines of code buried deep in the plugin.

If anyone else runs into the same problem, it's in /simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-error.php

I can post the changes, but I presume a Simple:stuck_out_tongue:ress update will be released shortly.

    Thanks!
