Site Crash- Theme, Plugins, or another animal ? :)

Dear Support Team!

I am a new joiner to the membership, and i really love all the plugins, you are doing great job!

I have a bothering issue, i keep getting Internal error 500 frequently and i dont know if its a theme issue, or plugins issue as i have plenty. Before i start a deactivation-reactivation are there known crashes between BuddyPress, BuddyBoss theme and WPMU Dev plugins?

Many thanks.
Best wishes,
David

    Hello Dr. David

    Welcome to WPMU DEV Community!

There is no conflict between the Buddypress and WPMU DEV plugins, and we have a lot of members that using BuddyBoss theme with our plugins too.

The 500 Internal Server error it is not specific to WordPress, and it can happen with anything else running on your server as well. But there are some steps to troubleshoot this issue:

    - Check if the .htaccess file is corrupted. Locate the file in your directory and rename it to something else .htaceess_renamed. Visit your page, if the issue is gone, navigate to Settings > Permalinks and save settings to regenerate the .htaccess file.

    - Increase the PHP memory limit. Please check out tutorial here:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/increase-memory-limit/

    - Check for a conflict with plugin or theme. Please follow the flowchart from our manual:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/using-wpmu-dev/getting-support/

We always advise to have a fresh backup of your site before updating or installing a plugin/theme on your live site. You can try the Snapshot plugin for backups.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you require any further information!

    Kind Regards,
    Nastia
