[SmartCrawl] Issues with SEO Analysis and request

On one of my pages, the SEO Analysis section is behaving oddly. When it loads, it shows there's one recommendation, but there are no issues on the list (only "green" items). After clicking Refresh, 2-3 "yellow" issues appear. One of those is missing alt attributes for images which I fixed, but it seems to not update.

Also, the "Content is shorter than 300 words" issue isn't really applicable to my site. I think it should be written differently, because I don't need that much text on my page. I don't want to artificially add more words just to avoid this (I know I can ignore it, but it seems misleading). I'd like to propose a feature request to change this.

I would like to add one more feature request to exclude some of the pages (at least partially) from SEO Analysis. For example, I have a page without any content, except a single shortcode so it will trigger SEO recommendations which are not applicable.

    Hi Wayne,

    On one of my pages, the SEO Analysis section is behaving oddly. When it loads, it shows there's one recommendation, but there are no issues on the list (only "green" items). After clicking Refresh, 2-3 "yellow" issues appear. One of those is missing alt attributes for images which I fixed, but it seems to not update

    I could notice there are img tags added via javascript/jquery code which has missing alt keywords, other than those the alt keywords does seem to load correctly.

    <div class="attachment-info">
    			<div class="thumbnail thumbnail-{{ data.type }}">
    				<# if ( data.uploading ) { #>
    					<div class="media-progress-bar"><div></div></div>
    				<# } else if ( 'image' === data.type && data.sizes ) { #>
    					<img src="{{ data.size.url }}" draggable="false" alt="" />
    				<# } else { #>
    					<img src="{{ data.icon }}" class="icon" draggable="false" alt="" />
    				<# } #>
    			</div>

    It's not clear which exact plugin, or what exact action is adding the above jquery code. I'm double checking this with the developer to see whether there are any other instances excluding these jQuery scripts that would be listing out issues with alt text in general. Will keep you posted once I get further feedback.

    I do understand your concern and your observation. However, what SEO Analysis provides is more of a recommendation and not a requirement. However, these recommended factors are some common aspects which are considered in terms of SEO workflow.

    As long as the page is organic, and up to your requirements, there isn't' any need to make any artificial changes in general.

    I would like to add one more feature request to exclude some of the pages (at least partially) from SEO Analysis. For example, I have a page without any content, except a single shortcode so it will trigger SEO recommendations which are not applicable

    This entirely depends upon the shortcode you use. If the shortcode outputs 3 paragraphs of text, SmartCrawl would still list out SEO Analysis for these content which might be useful. Also, you could overlook these recommendations, if you think it's not applicable in your context too.

    I'll make sure to bring your concern into our developer's attention so that we could check further about the scope of improvements regarding this.

    Will keep you posted once I get further feedback regarding the alt images asap. Have a nice day ahead.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
