[SmartCrawl Pro] index.html 301 redirect

please take a look at my sub site id=2

my client’s old site has http://www.site.com/index.html. i set 301/302 redirect from http://www.site.com/index.html to http://www.site.com in smartcrawl. Both didn’t work. Any idea how to fix it?

    Hello kamhangmak!

I hope you’re well today and thank you for reaching out to us!

I checked this issue on the site and can confirm it doesn’t work. Instead of a 301 redirect it’s giving me a 200 OK response and an empty page. I tested this on my test sites, both single installations and multisite and in my case this worked correctly.

At this point I have no information as to why this is happening on your site. Maybe it has something to do with configuration? I’d like to check that. Would you mind sharing access credentials to your site so I can debug this issue?

    Hello kamhangmak!

Please check now. I discovered the web server was not redirecting index.html because there was an index.html file in public_html/index.html This is an empty file used to avoid listing the contents of this directory if PHP is disabled. So, after renaming this file, the redirect started working.

    Please check and confirm.

    Kind regards,

    Pawel
