[SmartCrawl Pro] Post types settings box

It would be nice if there were a setting to disable the SmartCrawl settings box on certain post types.

I really do not need it for my Woocommerce orders, etc.

I’ve already forwarded this to SmartCrawl developers and designers for further consideration. It makes perfect sense in my personal opinion, we’ll have to wait and see if and when this will be implemented though.

Meanwhile, there’s a little custom code that could help you with that. Please create a new MU plugin file like: wp-content/mu-plugins/remove-seo-metabox.php

(just create the /mu-plugins/ folder, if it doesn’t exist already)

and insert the exact snippet in there:

Thanks! I will test out that code soon.

In my opinion, all plugins should implement this. It just makes so much sense. WordPress has a tendency of getting very cluttered.

Our developers already discussing how to further improve that, like removing the metabox for post types that don’t have a frontend view and/or providing a way to exclude specific custom post types.
