here is the error log

[snapshot][2017-04-01 17:56:26][Error] Error processing manual backup: unknown:unknown

[snapshot][2017-04-01 17:56:32][Error] Error processing manual backup: backup

    Hey there Jean

    Are you trying to create a normal snapshot? Or a managed backup? Please advise!

    Could you please access your server via FTP, edit the wp-config.php file, find a line like
    define('WP_DEBUG', false);and replace it with the following (if the above line doesn’t exist, simply insert next snippet just above the /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ comment)

    // Enable WP_DEBUG mode
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    // Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
    // Disable display of errors and warnings
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
    @ini_set('display_errors', 0);

    Then go ahead and try to create another snapshot.
    By doing so, a /wp-content/debug.log file should be created.
    Simply download it, rename it to debug.txt and attach it here in your next reply. If size of text file exceeds the 5MB limit of our forums, please use a service like Dropbox and post the shareable link instead.

    Also, please grant us with support access to your website so we can have a better look of your settings. You can do so via WPMUDEV Dashboard plugin, there's no need to share credentials. You can find detailed informations here: https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-4
    Just let us know in your next reply here that access is granted as we don't get any notifications about it.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

    Hey there Jean,

    could you please inform me if you're trying normal snapshots (like from Snapshot -> New snapshot) or a Managed Backup?

    Also, it seems that support access has been revoked. Could you please re-grant it for us via WPMUDEV -> Support?
    Here's some detailed information about it:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-4

    Just let us know here in your next reply that access has been granted as we don't get any notifications about it.

    About the debug information, is this the whole /wp-content/debug.log file of your server? If not, could you please rename it to debug.txt and attach it here in your next reply?

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

    Predrag Dubajic

    Hi Jean,

    Are you still having this issue with snapshot because I can see that yesterday's backup is completed and properly uploaded to our cloud storage?

    As for the Smush issue, you can check the media library with List view and there you will see which images are not optimized.
    I checked this on your site and when I try to optimize them it shows this error:

    Error posting to API: cURL error 77: Problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?)

    This message is usually related to server configuration so could you please get in touch with your hosting provider, let them know of the error and they should be able to check if there's anything blocking connection with our servers.

    Could you please start a new thread for this Smush issue and let us know of the results there since the issue is related to different plugin than your original question, this will help us keep better track of everything and provide you with better responses.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

    Dimitris

    Hey there jean,

    hope you're doing good today!

    the backup continues to have problems. it seems that the database is missing. or at least my desktop server cannot access it. so i still cannot download the backup to my desktop server so that i can work offline.

    Which your desktop server? WAMP, MAMP, VVV or maybe DesktopServer?

    Either way though, managed backups in our cloud servers are providing an automated script to migrate your backups. You should go to Hub/My Websites page and click on the little cloud icon.

    In next popup window, there are two buttons to download
    - full-backup-xxxxxxxxxxx.zip
    - snapshot-installer.php.zip

    Download them and place the in the root directory of your server, where you want to migrate this.
    Also un-compress snapshot-installer.php.zip so you can get the snapshot-installer.php file instead.

    Finally, create a new local database for your website. Keep it empty and the credentials of your local database should be set in restoration wizard when you visit your local domain (let's say it's http://localhost/) as http://localhost/snapshot-installer.php.
    Then all database tables and records will be extracted from .zip file and inserted into your DB (the same goes for folders/files, they will be extracted from .zip file to current directory).

    Ref: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/introducing-managed-wordpress-cloud-backups-for-free/

    Let us know how that goes!

    also, now that i've run through most of your optimizations...my google maps for my locations page no longer appears.

    Could you please create a new thread for this as my colleague Predrag mentioned before?
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/#question
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

    Dimitris

    Hello jean

    i've 4 threads now.. for the same issue...so you would like me to make a 5th? no problem... here goes.

    No, didn't mean that.
    I just skipped the part to check for other threads of yours, so I can see now that there are some "duplicated" threads for the same issues.

    Me: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/snapshot-general-backup-error
    Rupok: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/i-ran-a-backup-not
    Kasia: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/cannot-restore-backup

    Please, let's continue in this thread only, considering the Managed Backup issues you're dealing with. Having multiple threads for the same issue isn't necessary, it's actually not allowed.
    Have a read in our The Good Support Ticket documentation here please:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/

    6. Don’t bump your thread
    We reply on threads from oldest to newest based on last post to ensure our support is spread out evenly. Bumping your ticket will only make the last post newer and push yourself further down the queue. Hijacking or creating multiple tickets will also lead to delays

    About the Google maps error:
    Rupok: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/after-optimizing-with-hummingbird-google-maps-dont-load-into-site
    Ken: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/google-maps-not-visible
    I've already informed my colleagues, Rupok and Ken, so this is going to be addressed by one of them.

    Having said all that, back to the Managed Backup restoration process.
    You should ensure that you have a local server that runs successfully and that can serve WordPress websites. As far as I understand (and please do correct me, if i'm wrong here) you're using DesktopServer.

    So you should be able to create a brand new local WP site. Please do so.
    Let's say that this website is accessible from http://mywordpress.dev/ (please let us know which local domain you're using so we can be on-track with you).

    All you need from this new empty WP site is the database credentials.
    Simply edit wp-config.php file and take note of

    define('DB_NAME', 'local');
    define('DB_USER', 'root');
    define('DB_PASSWORD', 'root');
    define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');

    as these details are needed later on.

    Then, you can delete all folders and files of this local installation.
    Copy the managed backup files (full-backup-xxxxxxxxxxx.zip & snapshot-installer.php) in the root directory of your WP installation.
    Go to http://mywordpress.dev/snapshot-installer.php in your browser, so the restoration wizard will start.
    Insert the DB credentials from above and restore.

    If this error still troubles you, please consider adding your managed backup files in a Dropbox or Google Drive folder and share the these with us, so we could also try the restoration process.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris
