[Snapshot] installation snapshot pro

Hi,

I am trying the Hub as a management board for my business and with the third installation of Snapshot I am getting an error when I install Snapshot on my client site:

Server error status: Internal Server Error [500]

Does this have to do with a limitation of trial period or is this a possible configuration issue with my client's hosting? I also tried this plugin on another client's site (avauitvaartzorg.nl) and got the same error (different hosting party)

regards,

Haime

    Hey there Haime !

    Hope you are having a great day!

    I’m sorry to hear about the issue that you encountered. This is very odd. I tried to replicate the issue in a couple test sites of ours but couldn’t.

    This is not a limitation of your trial period. However, it could be a resource limitation of the server(s). If you’re interested, this article explains the reason(s) behind the 500 Internal Server Error and how to solve it.

    As a part of the investigation, could you please go through the following troubleshooting test(s) which would help us determine the source of the issue?

    1. Enable debugging: If the plugin/theme conflict test doesn’t help, please enable WP_DEBUG. You can enable debugging by putting the following constants in the wp-config.php file:

    // Enable WP_DEBUG mode
    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    // Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    @ini_set( 'log_errors', 1 );
    // Disable display of errors and warnings
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
    @ini_set( 'display_errors', 0 );

    These constants must be added before the line “/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */” for them to work. Please make sure identical constants are replaced if they were already there previously.

    Enabling debugging in WordPress will log any errors that the site encounters in a log file named “debug.log” located in the “wp-content” folder. Please upload the debug.log file in a cloud storage platform like Dropbox and attach the shared link in your next response so that we can take a look into it. You can know more about WordPress debugging in this handy article.

    2. Enable Support Access: Could you please grant Support Access from the WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin so we can take a closer look? You can know how to do that here.

    Note: It is highly recommended that the site is backed up in an alternative way before the tests or the tests are done in a cloned staging site.

    Hope this helps. We’ll be looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks!

    Kind regards,

    Nahid

    Hello Haime

    Trust all is well!

    I’ve tried installed the Snapshot plugin from Plugins > Add New and got the following message:

    Forbidden
    You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/update.php on this server.

    Looks like none of the plugins can be installed on your site, not from Plugins > Add New as well.

    Please check the folder’s permissions, try applying proper file permissions to the files of your WordPress install.

    Please check the /wp-admin/ , the /wp-content/ and /plugins/ folder permission if they are set to 744, if not, please set them to 744.

    Please see here how to apply properly the folder permissions:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/understanding-file-permissions/

    If this will not work, rename the .htaccess file and try to install any plugin.

    If the above will not work another plugin can cause this. Please deactivate all plugins and try to install any plugin. If all is well, activate one plugin at a time, while testing for the issue.

    Let us know how it went!

    Cheers,

    Nastia

    Hi Nastia,

    I have tried all the items you mentioned but I still get the same error.

    debug log is empty and all files have been set to 744 (except for “dpecial” files that should be 644. Any other causes I can check?

    Hi Nastia,

    I tried uploading the plugin through FTP (I have several websites running with snapshot) and when I try to activate it on this website I get the following error:

    Hello Haime

    Hope you are doing well!

    There first warning says that there are missing files in the Snapshot directory, files like snapshot.php doesn’t exist in a folder. It is possible that not all plugin’s files are uploaded.

    Please re-upload the plugin, if the issue will be back, run a quick check for conflict with another plugin or theme.

    Deactivate all the plugins and try to install the Snapshot or any other plugin from Plugins > Add New. If everything is well, activate one plugin at a time to find the one that causes this.

    Follow the steps from the flowchart:

    If the issue is still there, please send to us your credentials so we could have a closer look at this issue:
