[Snapshot Pro] Backup overloads server

I've tried to run a backup from one of my sites a few times, but if I run it during the day it uses so many resources that it causes the server to overload and our protection systems kick in, preventing websites from being served.

Is there a way to reduce the amount of resource being used by Snapshot, as it's a good service that I can't use on half my sites currently.

    Hi Greg Mileham

It will depend of many facts, server memory, CPU, PHP configuration and how many site you are running the backup.

I would suggest to increase PHP memory and max_execution_time and check if the problem is gone, you can also enable de support access and we can have a closer look.

    1. Log in to the WordPress Admin Panel for your site (go to the Network Admin dashboard if on Multisite), and then navigate to the “Support” page from the WPMU DEV menu item (WPMU DEV > Support).

    2. Click the “Grant Support Access” button in the Support Access panel.

    You can follow this chapter:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-5

However is a good practice you run a backup overnight when the server is not having many access.

Let me know when the support is granted.
    Have a Great Day
    Best Regards,
