Snapshot to migrate from local host to live server

Can I use SNapshot to migrate from local host to live server. It is not a multisite and I would be going onto a new cPanel on godaddy. How can I get this done?

    Hey Eli,

    Hope you're doing well today!

Yes, we have added migration logic to Snapshot  keep in mind it is still in beta stage so just make sure you don't remove your localhost version until you have checked over the live server and made sure there is no issues.

    This is how it works:

    1. Install Snapshot on both localhost and live WP install

    2. Run snapshot on localhost

    3. Upload that snapshot to your live servers folder: /wp-content/uploads/snapshots/

    4. On your live server go to: Snapshot > Import. Then click the "Scan/Import" button it will find the file you just uploaded and then import it into the snapshot archive

    5. Go to your list of snapshots on live server - then click "restore" on the snapshot just added  it will give a quick run down of details then you can confirm the restore.

Hope that helps! If you have any questions then just let us know.

Another suggestion I'll mention quickly, if the above isn't working for you is this: https://github.com/wp-sync-db/wp-sync-db

It works very well too

    All the best,
    Tyler
