Some quick questions for a very eager beginner

Hello There!

I am currently the webmaster / content manager for my newspapers website, we have launched only a few weeks ago and being hit with issues mainly towards functionality and user experience. Much of these issues I have either done quick freemium plugins that are not proving to be effective. I was highly refereed to wpmudev now with invaluable list of plugin solutions I am almost overwhelmed with relief.

To make my question concise and to the point: I have looked through the fourms and can't really find a beginners guide packet so to speak. I want to start installing and implementing these plugins as soon as possible but, would I have to deactivate the plugins I have for these functions first so they would not interfere?

The immediate plugins I am about to install are:
Hustle
Ultimate Branding
Membership 2 Pro
Events+
Support System
Easy Blogging.

I will just stop right there I think I am getting the across, our site is using newspaper 7 theme and we are hosted by WPengine.

Any sort of assistance in this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Sincerely,
James T.

    Hi James,

Hope you are doing good today, and welcome to the WPMU DEV Community.

I have looked through the fourms and can't really find a beginners guide packet so to speak.

We do have a manual on getting started with WPMU DEV:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals

Other than that, you can find all the information about the plugins/themes from our forums, blogs, and plugin usage section. For each plugin we have a plugin usage guide, on how to set it up, you can find that in the plugin homepage for each plugin, under Usage tab: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/hustle/#product-usage

I want to start installing and implementing these plugins as soon as possible but, would I have to deactivate the plugins I have for these functions first so they would not interfere?

That would be ideal, for eg if you run any two cache plugin together, it could always cause conflicts. And I don't see any need of activating a two exact plugins which would serve the same purpose. If you think there is any conflicts in your system, you can always run a quick plugin/theme conflict test as illustrated in getting support manual (flowchart), and rule out whether any plugin is causing any issue in your system.

The plugins listed above should work fine together, if you still find yourself stuck, or have any doubt, please do let us know, we would be glad to troubleshoot it further. Have a nice weekend.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
