Ssl certificate for one mapped domain on network

I have set up a multi site network with about 6 subsites and all of them will be mapped with a different domain.

For one of the domains my customer has a ssl certificate which is currently used on the old server of another provider than the new site is on.

Is it possible to map this https:// domain to the network just as I do with normal domains? Or what do I have to do?

    Hey @flobrunner,

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

You can use single certificate along with one of your network sites and Domain Mapping. Please note though that this will “block” your IP, therefore not allowing you to protect other sub-sites with SSL certs. That’s because usually there’s a separate dedicated IP needed for each certificate.

If it’s all right then you need to install the certificate on your server (the same IP as your network resides on) and then domain mapping should allow you to easily map https:// domain just like any other domain.

In case you’d like to protect more domains residing over the same single IP you’d need Multi-Domain SSL certificate instead. However, the mapping procedure would be the same here.

    I hope that helps!
