Stay with Marketpress or move to WooCommerce

I’ve been a loyal WPMU Dev guy, contributor, bug finder and squasher…but I am having trouble with the development cycle and the communication with us the community.

I have clients that I feel I am putting on the hook…waiting for the results of the release. Currently there are basic feature holes in the Marketpress solution that are promised to be fixed…its been almost a year. Ability for multiple product variants, multiple product images, etc…i’ve even proposed solutions that could be made immediately. But if the development cycle will overwrite these solutions in the next update or has a different method than that presents a problem.

It would be good if there was a real timeline and what the expectations are of this release….right now I feel like we are in the dark and it is now time to move forward and be a bit more transparent on how to proceed.

Thanks.

    Hi Ben,

Greetings and thanks for posting on the forum.

There are already a feature requests created for this feature and this feature may be added in future version of plugin but We don’t publish ETAs to prevent disappointment if a deadline is missed(which in plugin development quite a frequent occurrence!).

I have notified the plugin developer to get his feedback regarding adding these features in the plugins.

    He will reply here shortly.

    Thanks,

    Vinod Dalvi

    Hey Ben!

Sorry for the frustration! I realize it’s been a long time in development and I’m happy to say that we’ve begun internal alpha testing of MarketPress 3.0. This has been a huge project and we’ve practically written it from the ground up – paving the road so we can release future enhancement much much quicker (ideally we’ll be shooting for only 6-8 weeks between major releases).

Thanks you for being a loyal member and for sticking around just a bit longer. We hope to have a beta out here on the forums within the next couple of weeks.
