Subscribe by Email Plugin - Small Changes

Hello, I would like to see the following changes to the " Subscribe by Email" plugin

A) Ability to put the "Subscribe Button" next to email box

B) Ability to change the size of the registration confirmation text

C) Ability to use this as a shortcode and not only as a side bar

D) I just want to register people, I do not want wordpress to send emails automatically to registered people when a new post is created. How can I prevent the plugin for sending emails in general?

Thanks a lot

Ronan

    Hi Ronan,

    Lets take these one at a time.

    A)

    `function widget( $args, $instance ) {
    global $sbe_button_text;
    extract( $args );

    $title = apply_filters('widget_title', $instance['title'] );
    $text = stripslashes($instance['text']);
    $sbe_button_text = stripslashes($instance['button_text']);

    echo $before_widget;
    echo $before_title . __($title, 'subscribe-by-email') . $after_title;
    ?>

    <ul>
    <?php echo subscribe_by_email_form(); ?>
    <br />Remove this
    <p style="padding-top:10px;">And this
    <?php echo $text; ?>
    </p>
    </ul>
    <?php
    echo $after_widget;
    }`

    B) You could accomplish this using css, use firebug for firefox or chrome's inspect element feature and select the text you will see the css rule that is applied to the text modify that and apply to css file when happy.

    C) This is a feature request and I will let the developer know.

    D) You would need to take a look at lines 377 onwards of the plugin and edit as necessary.

    Unfortunately customisation of plugins is beyond the level of support offered here due to time constraints but the above should get you pointed in the right direction.

    Cheers
