supporter ads insertion and excerpt (again…)

well, noticed that there are still many themes in the pack that present a problem with supporter ads insertion, specially in archive/tag pages.

exemple : http://conseilmarketing.mgr-artagency.com/tag/plurimedia/ (this is a splog but kept it for illustration purpose)

Did you take that in consideration for S3 ?? This is really a mess that means very few themes can support ads insertion by supporter.

As told before, this is specific to supporter, since Ads Inserter works just fine.

Thanks

    Hiya,

I’m not sure exactly what the issue is from looking at the example you gave – can you clarify that please?

Do you see using S3 as part of the reason for the issues? Obviously all plugins/themes are designed to work with standard WordPress so we can’t obviously guarantee they’ll work with CDNs too. Happy to take a look and see what we can find though!

huh there is no CDN issue, just as mentioned months ago, the fact that the ads code is displayed on any theme using auto excerpt on a page (including wpmudev ones).

Also as mentioned on this ooooold thread, the plugin “ads inserter”, using specific hook works fine also on auto excerpt using themes.

This issue is definitly supporter

yep : the problem is the use of the excerpt or auto excerpt on post, archive page or anything that grab the excerpt in themes : the ads code is displayed instead of the ads, and in many themes (as social here for ex.) WILL display the code/ad on homepage.

So if a 468*60 is choosen, there can be as many ads codes as excerpts on one home page !
