team! Just wondering, I want to edit the user registration

Hello team!

Just wondering, I want to edit the user registration email to edit the default content, how would I go about that?

On another site, this could be a workaround but could I disable all wordpress emails and use this: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/automatic-follow-up-emails-for-new-users/

Only thing I worry about is I have a forgot password section that I would want users to use and be emailed the reset password process.

Cheers

    Hey there @greg

Welcome to WPMU DEV, glad to have you aboard!

You can most certainly customize the default new user email from WordPress using a simple plugin like this one:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/welcome-email-editor/

You could include a link to your forgot-password page in your custom welcome email too.

And yes, Automessage can be used for that purpose, and more. But you’d probably want to disable the default WordPress welcome email in that case. This tutorial show how:

    http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-send-a-custom-welcome-email-to-new-users-in-wordpress/

I hope this helps! And thanks for being a member

Sounds good will check over

In the second half (Automessage section) If I disable the default WordPress welcome email, will it cancel the other WordPress emails that are sent to users?

Also if I use your Automessage plugin, can I include user values such as firstname or username or password details? Format like a registration email?

As you state ” Automessage can be used for that purpose, and more.” – what other purposes can it be used for? Lost password email, etc?

    Cheers

    Hi @greg

Hope you are doing good today

In the second half (Automessage section) If I disable the default WordPress welcome email, will it cancel the other WordPress emails that are sent to users?

No! It will not cancel other email notifications of WordPress.

Also if I use your Automessage plugin, can I include user values such as firstname or username or password details? Format like a registration email?

You an use some constants that are next to Message area. I am afraid you can not include password in content message.

Yes! As stated above by @patrick you can include forgot password link in message field too. I flagged Patrick in this thread to provide some more examples for which automessage can be used. He will reply here soon.

Take care and have a nice day

    Cheers, Sajid
