The plugin and themes update are not showing on wpmudev.

The plugin and themes update are not showing on wpmudev HUB. However, after we visit WordPress dashboard, the updates shown both on dashboard and HUb. Maybe some sync issue?

    It happens with all the website, it is not specific to some sites.

    Issue: ‘When we open the update page from the WordPress dashboard then only it syncs and shows the updated issue on the WPMUDEV hub’.

    It seems that the issue is from some sites because some sites show the update on the WPMUDEV about the theme and plugin update. but it is not like that, those websites show the updates because we have open the update page of those specific websites.

    But it happens to all the websites. Can you please check

    Hello Manuel Ramirez ,

    I got a message from an agent on your last chat about those syncs and that he raised this question with Hub developer.

    So all updates won’t show immediately in the Hub – only when Hub and site are synced. The site should sync with Hub on its own every 12 hours at a minimum except in localhost.

    But Divi can be iffy, because of their integration.

    If you have a site where Hub is not showing updates for all plugins and theme (not just Divi), can you add those line to the wp-config.php

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

    /* WPMUDEV Dashboard settings */
    define('WPMUDEV_API_DEBUG', true);
    define('WPMUDEV_API_DEBUG_ALL', true);

    before the line /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    Let it run for around 24 hrs, and then send us debug.log from /wp-content/ directory (use service like dropbox).

    If there is an issue with automatic Sync to Hub it should be shown in the debug.log.

    kind regards,

    Kasia

    Hi Manuel Ramirez

    Hope you are doing well.

    Thank you for the logs, I don’t see any error on logs, is this happening on all websites? or hosted on a specific server?

    Wouldn’t you mind please, create a staging site on your server and send us some information and we can take a closer look on this?

    As we do not have a dedicated Cpanel for the specific site. We have almost 300 websites on the same server, so we are not comfortable to give access to all. We can give access to the WordPress dashboard, there we can install the “File Manager” plugin. By using this plugin, we can access the files on the server. Is it okay for you to work?

    Hi Manuel Ramirez

    Hope you are doing great.

    Yes, please, seems the support access is already expired, wouldn’t you mind please, regrant it on the website, and we can take a closer look.

    Could you also run a different test?

    On a website that is having this issue, try to log out from WPMU DEV dashboard then Log in back, check if this will show the updates for that site on HUB correctly.

    Some other questions, is it happening for all sites hosted on the same server? Is it happening for All plugins? Free/Premium.

    Let us know when support is granted.

    Best Regards

    If this is happening with WPMU DEV plugins (not just proprietary premium plugins), the the most likely cause is a general cron problem on your sites. WP cron can be flakey and doesn’t reliably trigger on very low traffic, private, or heavily cached sites. The sync is on a 12hr cron, but if your sites fall under one of those categories the cron may not be getting triggered to sync. There is not much we can do about that other than you enabling a real server-side cron job.

    In the logs you provided I can see some successful hub syncs. However there is no way for me know know if it was from a cron or when you visited the site.
