Theme presentation with Multisite or subdomain ?

I want to present different themes to the users.

Using a ThemeSwitcher is fine, but I noticed that not all widgets can be shown when switching to another theme. – The result is bad, because content is missing therfor, using theme-switchers.

So I am wondering if I have to prepare a subdomain and database for each theme I want to show, or may a Multisite can do the job.

It is just to show a client e.g. which different design we have.

Thanks for reading,

best regards,

    Hi @uwe,

I think it may work, but you need to setup all the widgets and theme options for each theme beforehand, then once you switch theme, the widgets should then be present each time. So activate a theme on the site, then add all the widgets you require to it’s sidebars where you want them, configure the custom menus if you have any. Then activate another theme and do the same.

    Then use theme switcher.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Vaughan,

thanks for the idea. It works but not completely as I wanted.

The header-img each theme has, is not used when switching.

The header-img from the first theme is presented in all themes.

I will try with multisite, looking if this is less work.

    Thanks again
