UpTime monitoring

Hi there,

I'm having a bit of an issue with your uptime monitoring in My Hub.

I have uptime monitoring active on ThinkBiGSites.co.uk and it's showing that my site's been down for some 3 hours and 50 minutes and that it's still down. So, how do you explain the fact that I've been accessing and working in my admin for the last hour - in fact, I'm sending this message from within my control panel - and I'm getting the following message in My HuB;

YOUR WEBSITE IS DOWN
REQUEST TIMEOUT FOR HTTPS://THINKBIGSITES.CO.UK/
Unavailable for 3h 54m

Your uptime monitor is suggesting that my site has been up for only 81.4% of the last week, has had 41 outages with a total downtime of 1d 6h 51m.

When I saw this on Friday (the stats weren't quite so bad but still very poor with 34 outages), I contacted my hosting providers who have assured me that my server has not been down and have provided proof from the monitoring they have through nodeping.

Can you explain to me how your system's works and why my site is showing as being down.

Kindest regards,

Steve

    Interestingly, I have one other multisite where I'm using your UpTime Monitoring. It, too, is showing the following error message on My Hub;

    YOUR WEBSITE IS DOWN
    REQUEST TIMEOUT FOR HTTP://JUSTTHINKBIG.CO/
    Unavailable for 4h 10m

    It, too, is up and running and all's fine, as far as i can see.

    Not good, as your monitor has had me very worried.

    In addition to my previous questions, what information are you using in order to provide your monitoring.

    Regards,

    Steve

    Hello Steve - Think BiG,
    Hope you are doing good today :slight_smile:

    I am really sorry for inconvenience that may caused by this. I am sad to tell you that our Uptime Monitoring is not in good shape at the moment. It is producing some inaccurate results.

    Our developers are aware of it and working on new Uptime Monitoring. That I am sure will be a lot better than the current one. I am sure they have learned a lot from their mistakes with current one.

    Meanwhile, you can try using a free Uptime Monitoring service like this:

    Take care and have a nice day!

    Hello Steve - Think BiG,
    Hope you are doing good today :slight_smile:

    We just recently figured it out. You and all other subscribers will get a notification of down for maintenance when you will try to enable Uptime from Hummingbird -> Uptime (see screenshot below).

    We have also removed Uptime Monitoring tab from The Hub.

    Please accept my sincere apologies for inconvenience that may caused by this. Our developers are working round the clock for a new and better Uptime monitoring service that will be out really soon.

    Thanks for your patience and have a nice day :slight_smile:

    Best Regards,
