There is a problem with the hosting in WPMUDEV servers

Hello,

I create a new site under xgint.com. The site url is https://xgint.com/learn. Before doing anything and with the default theme and the only post that come by default (hello world) I run a performance test. The score is 75.

Page catching active, Gzip compression done. CDN activated.

The main problem is with the speed index (3.9 s) and there is nothing, when I have some content this could be dramatic.

HB recommends:

1. – Reduce server response times (TTFB). It took 640 ms to receive the first byte of page content.

2.- Eliminate render blocking resources. Some of them are:

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/1f42b870-38ad-4621-9cc9-44c92f7c1249.css 10.2 KB 270 ms

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/71c7f510-6203-4150-a889-4cca04048ef8.css 34.2 KB 390 ms

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/3476f19c-ed69-49ec-8f63-7132f882c0e8.js 33.7 KB 390 ms

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/51d2b1a6-ea8b-4802-9330-aa2e486300a6.js

3.-our page is serving following 10 resources with an inefficient cache policy.

Besides the known issues with fcbook and google (that cannot be changed and I don't know why HB insist in count them), there some from the CDN:

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/71c7f510-6203-4150-a889-4cca04048ef8.css 1 m 34.2 KB

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/3476f19c-ed69-49ec-8f63-7132f882c0e8.js 1 m 33.7 KB

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/1f42b870-38ad-4621-9cc9-44c92f7c1249.css 1 m 10.2 KB

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/51d2b1a6-ea8b-4802-9330-aa2e486300a6.js 1 m 4.4 KB

https://hb.wpmucdn.com/xgint.com/0bd63b74-a34d-4030-b1ad-ed71895aed6d.css 1 m 1.6 KB

I cannot do anything with this.

My conclusion: there is a big problem with your servers, even I received some complaints from visitor telling me that my site wasn't active.

I don't know if this is a general problem or only the server location (servers in NY). So please review and it such a case can I move this site to another location (Europe, India, Singapore,….)? provided that I wont'n have the same problem.

After that, I tried to run a new test, but HB seems to be frozen when reach 99%. I cleared cache and the same. The message: Test is taking a little longer than expected, hang in there…last forever (to be more precise after 20 minutes I left the page).

This is very disappointed.

I need some solution asap.

The support access is active. Just take into account that the main site (xgint.com) is a production site and please don't deactivate anything in there. In the rest of the sites there is no problems in change anything.

Thanks,

Angel

P.S. Did you change the support tickets? I cannot upload any file which would be more informative when describing any problem.

    Hello Angel

When I tested the scan for https://xgint.com/learn site and I can see the scan is stuck. There might be any error or conflict.

Would you please run a conflict test? Please deactivate all plugins except this one and check if the problem gone. If so, then enable all plugins one by one and find which one is having conflict. You need to do the same with themes as well.

You can find the flowchart here: https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-1

Let us know how it goes, please.

The later report you mentioned, which subsite is showing this report? Please mention that and I will check that again.

P.S. Did you change the support tickets? I cannot upload any file which would be more informative when describing any problem.

You can attach images in reply comment to the ticket.

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

    Ash

After updating WP to 5.2 and disable assets optimization it seems to be working.

I enabled assets optimization later on and keep working

But the other subsides works before updating.

HB always behave strange. I think you should review the plugin. I have summited some tickets before and for some of the issues I didn’t get solution.

    Thanks,

The problem with the stucked scan in subsite is resolved (even though I don’t know why happened), but the problem with the slowness of the entire site is still present and I didn’t get any response.

I’m getting several complains from visitors about how slow the site load.

I asked if could I move the site to another location (supposedly yes, because when you create the site it says that this can be changed after), but instead of replying me my ticked was closed as resolved.

Please check the hosting in that location if there is a problem of any kind on your side to consider moving to a new location.

    Thanks

    Hello Angel

I am afraid, you can’t change the location of your site using any interface. There are two ways:

    1. You can create a managed backup using our snapshot plugin, create a new site on another location and restore the backup there.

    2. You can create a new site on another location, then use shipper plugin to move the site to the new location.

Please note that, all hosting backup are attached to site and location. So if you change the location, the previous backups won’t be moved.

Now about the slowness of the site, I have checked your main site and that didn’t seem slow to me. It was not super fast either, but not noticeably slow.

About the subsites, would you please mention one or two subsite URLs so that I can check? Also, would you please enable support access so that I can take a look? Please follow this article to enable support access: https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-5

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

    Ash

    hello Ash,

About changing the location, I just create a new different site in another location (Germany), so depending in how it behaves when I have this site with content I'll decide if I move xgint.com (currently in New York location).

    The other subsides are:

    – xgint.com/academy

    – xgint.com/learn

    – xgint.com/jobfinder

academy and learn has no contest yet, job finder I started to put some content, but I had I problem. HB is stuck at 99% when doing a performance test. I just added a theme (the same in xgint.com main site). At first the test was running, but when I went to asset optimization and compress some files (the same I compress in the main site), after that the performance test stop working. I tried to go back to the theme by default and the same.

There is also something strange: for some of the files in assets optimization HB doesn't show the size (the same that in another subsides are shown).

HB is just a nightmare, There are many problems using it and many incompatibilities (as I reported in other posts, mainly with Smush).

I granted support access, just take into account that the main site xgint.com is a production site so please don't deactivate anything in it.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Do you have any solution to this? I'm incorporating content in this subsite (xgint.com/jobfinder) and want to publish in 2 or 3 days, but I'd like to optimize first.

I attach 2 screenshots from Query monitor that maybe has something to do with this error (HB stucked at 99%). The second is about the issue I commented in my post: for some of the files in assets optimization HB doesn't show the size (the same that in another subsides are shown).

Just in case is of any help to resolve the issue.

    Thanks,

    Hi Angel,

About changing the location, I just create a new different site in another location (Germany), so depending on how it behaves when I have this site with content I’ll decide if I move xgint.com (currently in New York location).

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, regarding the location, the only way would be as mentioned by Ash:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/there-is-a-problem-with-the-hosting-in-wpmudev-servers#post-1398666

Use Shipper Pro or a backup to restore to the new server location created..

HB is stuck at 99% when doing a performance test. I just added a theme (the same in xgint.com main site). At first the test was running, but when I went to asset optimization and compress some files (the same I compress in the main site), after that the performance test stop working. I tried to go back to the theme by default and the same.

This is odd behaviour. I could only notice this issue with /jobfinder subsite, rest of the subsite, and the main site seems to run Performance Test without any issue after working on Asset Optimization.

Do you notice the issue with other subsites? Please do point that out too.

(xgint.com/jobfinder) and want to publish in 2 or 3 days, but I’d like to optimize first.

I attach 2 screenshots from Query monitor that maybe has something to do with this error (HB stucked at 99%). The second is about the issue I commented in my post: for some of the files in assets optimization HB doesn’t show the size (the same that in another subsides are shown).

I wasn’t able to replicate the same error messages in the Query monitor for /jobfinder subsite during Performance Test scan. But, from the screenshot what you have shared such error only occurs when a plugin or a specific setting in the substie dashboard is trying to set the “sslverify” argument in HTTP API requests to false, which has to do more with a conflict in the dashboard side.

Since I don’t see you mention about running a conflict test, could you please check, and see whether running a conflict test makes any difference in how the Performance Test works in the /jobfinder subsite?

Please check this flowchart on how to perform a conflict test:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Support-Process-Support-Process.gif

Sorry to hear that you are having ongoing issues, please do let us know how that above conflict test goes so that it would give a better idea about what could be done to help get this sorted asap. Please do let us know how that goes.

    Regards,

    Nithin
