This site may be hacked. (really annoying)

ok we are getting this error for on of my clients..

no idea what might have caused this.

we did the site up on domain.com and when we were happy we moved it to .co.uk.. and suddenly this issue showed up.

need to convince the client its not us.. (hoping its not us) what can i do.. and has this happened to any other peers here?

    Hi shan,

Could you please following the following directions as described by Google, here: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/190597?hl=en

    1) Register and verify your site in Google’s Search Console.

    2) Sign in to Search Console and check the "Security Issues" section to see details of sample URLs that might be hacked. Fix the security issue that allowed your website to be infected. Otherwise, your site is likely to be reinfected.

    3) Read our resources for hacked sites for detailed information on how to fix your website.

    4) Request a review in the Security Issues section in Search Console when your entire website is clean and secure. After we check that your site is fixed, we'll remove the "This site may be hacked" message.

Just to be on the safe side, would recommend you to install Defender plugin, in order to scan any unusual activities/files in your website, and make sure to harden your website, under Defender > Hardener.

I hope this helps. Please let us know how that goes.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin
